Markets: After a very significant price rally in any month, it is normal that the last business day of the month becomes a profit taking day. The fund manager wants to make their month-end report to show locked-in profits. The Turkey initiative to get Black Sea grain moving into the world marketplace cast a negative spell, but unless Putin has a change of heart, this effort will die on the vine.


Flash Sales: Yesterday, the USDA announced the sale of 159,000 mts of old crop soybeans to unknown.


Biofuel: On Monday, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a decision on 34 petitions for an exemption to the 2025 Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) requirements. The agency exempted 1.76 billion RFS compliance credits, known as Renewable Identification Numbers (RINs) for 29 small refineries. The agency previously estimated it would exempt 990 million RINs for 2025. In the announcement, EPA said it will propose a rule before the end of October to reallocate 100% of the difference between the prior estimate and the actual amount exempted.
