Tidbits
Shutdown: President Trump signed the funding bill to reopen the government. Federal employees should already be back at work.
S&D: At 11 AM Central Time today, the USDA will release a World Agricultural Supply & Demand Estimates (WASDE) for the first time since 12 September. USDA will also issue all the daily exports sales in excess of 100,000 mts of grains that should have been reported but were not reported because of the shut-down. The daily sales reports may be more informative than the S&D.
The analysts polled for their estimates (see below) on today’s S&D expect:
The corn carryover for the U.S. to be 20 million more bushels than reported on the most recent (September) USDA S&D.
The 2025 U.S. corn yield will be 4 bushels more than the all-time record, yet lower from Sep.
The world 2025 crop carryover will be 1.6 million mts larger than the most recent USDA S&D.
