The U.S. corn conditions are 61% good/excellent, down 3% from last week and 1% worse than the market expected. The 5-year average for this week is 70% good/excellent.

The soybean condition is 59% good/excellent, also down 3% for last week, but 1% better than the market expected. This is the worst bean crop rating for this week since 2008.

According to AgRural Consultancy:

Farmers in Brazil have harvested 2.2% of the 2023 second corn crop by Jun 8, compared with 1.4% a week earlier, 6.6% in the same period last year and 3.1% in the five-year average. Mato Grosso grows more than 30% of Brazil’s corn and that is where the harvest is concentrated with 4.4% of the corn harvested. Grain moisture reaching up to 20% has prevented farmers from harvesting more quickly in the state, but the yield reports are excellent.
