S&D: Today at 11AM Central time the USDA will release its monthly World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report, which is known as WASDE or just S&D and includes U.S. estimates. The key numbers will be corn and soybean yields for the 2025 crops and changes in demand for old and new crops. The market expects record corn yield by more than 5 bushels per acre and a record bean yield by almost a full bushel.
Most market analysts say soybeans were sharply higher yesterday because President Trump said China needs U.S. soybeans and he hopes China will increase U.S. soybean imports four-fold (that will not happen in the next 20+ years if ever). We think weather had something to do with Monday's bean price rally.
The tariff deadline for China was extended by 90 days by President Trump, to 10 November.
World crops: France’s ag ministry released an initial corn production estimate of 13.9 million mts (metric tons), down 5.6% from last year and raised their soft wheat production estimate 500,000 mts to 33.1 million mts and raised their barley production 200,000 mts to 12 million mts.
