Flash sale: Yesterday morning the USDA announced the sale of 320,068 mts of 2025 crop corn sold to Mexico.


Screwworm: Mexico confirmed a new case of New World Screwworm less than 70 miles from the U.S. border, the nearest detection to date. This species of screwworm is so dangerous because its maggots eat living flesh whereas other maggots eat only dead flesh.


Argentina has removed export taxes on all grains until October 31, plus beef and poultry, to boost foreign sales and dollar inflows to support the peso. Argentina is the world's leading exporter of soy oil and soybean meal and the world’s third leading corn exporter followed by Ukraine.  


Ukrainian grain exports have totaled 5.8 million mts this season since July, down 41% from last year; 3 times lower for corn, 28% less for wheat.


Brazilian soybean planting for 2025/26 reached 0.9% of the total area as of last Thursday, in line with last year. The first crop corn was 25% planted, almost matching last year. AgRural noted low humidity is limiting fieldwork, but forecast rainfall this week could boost progress.
