Fuel: The Department of Treasury has scheduled a public hearing for 27 May on the 45Z Clean Fuel Production Credit. The proposed rule defines eligibility, emissions rates, and certification requirements.
California’s year-end data has just been released. Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) consumption reached 119.5 million gallons in 2025.
U.S. Economy: Yesterday, the S&P 500 rose nearly 1% and the Nasdaq Composite gained 1.7% as both indexes made new highs. The Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 12 points to 49,609. Buying was supported by stronger-than-expected U.S. labor data, as nonfarm payrolls increased by 115,000 in April, beating forecasts, while the unemployment rate held steady at 4.3%. Markets continued to await Iran’s response to a U.S. proposal aimed at ending the conflict.
All three major indexes ended the week higher, supported by strong corporate earnings and continued strength in tech stocks. The Nasdaq rose 4.5% and the S&P 500 added 2.3%, marking a sixth straight week of gains and the longest winning streak since 2024.
