Flash Sales: Yesterday, the USDA announced the sale of 136,000 mts of new crop soybeans to China and 180,000 mts of new crop soybean meal to the Philippines.
The Black Sea:
The Deputy Director of the Commercial Operations Department for Ukraine was cited as the source of a rumor among international grain trade participants which began circulating Tuesday morning that Ukraine and Russia, with Turkey’s support, may have reached some form of understanding on restoring normal navigation in the Black Sea.
Nevertheless, Russian officials have stated that, following the blockade of shipping, Ukraine has begun to experience a severe shortage of ammunition, as rail shipments are significantly smaller and already operating at full capacity. If Russia truly believes that Ukraine used the grain corridor to transport weapons, then the full resumption of shipping remains in question.
