Soybean meal prices in China and Brazil have been very strong this week. AgrInvest Commodities export trader Eduardo Vanin reports China’s soybean meal inventory is at a seven-year low. The rally was ignited by the report that first quarter feed production in China hit a new record high for the first three months of 2025 which was 7.6 million mts larger than 2024 and 5.4 million larger than 2023 which was the previous record.
Brazil's soybean exports are projected to reach 14.3 million metric tons in April, a slight decrease from the previous estimate of 14.5 million metric tons, according to Anec. Additionally, soymeal exports are expected to remain steady at 2.4 million metric tons, unchanged from the prior week.
According to China’s Customs, as of 24 April 2025, the additional 125% tariff on integrated circuits originating in the United States will no longer be charged.
Still, Chinese Ministry of Commerce spokesperson He Yadong said no trade talks have taken place between the U.S. and China. He also added the U.S. should revoke unilateral tariffs.
