Russian President Putin held more than three hours of "highly useful" talks on Saturday with Americans Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner seeking a deal to end the Ukraine war, a Kremlin aide said, but he gave no indication ‌of any breakthrough. Witkoff and Kushner are in Kyiv today to continue the discussion with Ukrainian authorities.



Q&A: Marketing Strategy for Soybeans


Jake asked on September first:

With the rapid rise in crop prices over the last few weeks, I’m left wondering where we go from here and how I should be positioning the remainder of our crop.

 

We still have unpriced corn for fall delivery. We currently have soybeans contracted at $10.70 cash for fall delivery, and we have no wheat priced for July 2027.

 

I’ve been trying to follow the put program to limit our downside risk while also taking advantage of the “typical” fall price decline, but with the way the markets are behaving, I’m starting to wonder if we could be looking at something similar to 2020. I believe that was the year when harvest prices ended up being some of the highest prices of the year.
