Ukraine: U.S. Sec. of State Rubio led U.S. negotiations with Ukrainian officials in Florida yesterday. Both sides said the talks were productive about a peace deal with Russia with Rubio expressing optimism about the progress. Rubio said the aim is to create a pathway that leaves Ukraine sovereign and independent.
Venezuela: Yesterday, Venezuela's President Maduro was requesting a conversation with President Trump according to multiple news sources. Sunday evening, Trump confirmed he did talk with Maduro but made no other comment about the conversation.
Brazil based AgrInvest Commodities team weekend report included:
"Corn traded higher this week supported by concerns about the weather for the 2026 second crop and the development of soybean crops. The irregular rainfall pattern in the Central-North region of the country has resulted in delays and replanting of soybeans, which will lengthen the harvest and planting window for the second crop corn. There are already delays in the acquisition of inputs, indicating that some producers may reduce the planted area to mitigate agro climatic risks.
