Crude oil prices surged nearly another 3% on Thursday amid escalating air strikes between Israel and Iran and uncertainty over U.S. involvement. Tensions escalated as Israel bombed nuclear targets in Iran, which responded with missile and drone attacks on Israel, with no clear exit strategy from either side. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu warned Tehran of severe consequences, and Iran cautioned against third-party interference. The White House announced that President Trump will decide on U.S. involvement within the next two weeks.
The 90-day weather forecast indicates increased likelihood of above-normal temperatures across the entire U.S. through September, with below-normal rainfall expected mainly in the western Corn Belt, Northern Plains, and PNW. Iowa and much of the central and eastern Corn Belt have an equal chance of normal, above, or below-normal precipitation, while the far eastern Corn Belt, Delta, Southeast, and East Coast are more likely to experience above-normal rainfall.
