Flash Sales: USDA announced yesterday the sales of old crop soybeans: 330,000 mts to China and 283,450 mts to unknown.

NOPA crush for September was 196.3 million bushels of soybeans, below the trade estimate of 203.7 million and less than a year ago. This is the first year to year decline for any month since March 2025. No question, the lack of soybeans in many areas restricted crush bushels. Do you remember Cargill’s Iowa Falls crush plant had a positive basis of 105¢?

Soy oil stocks at 1.053 billion pounds were below trade estimates of 1.116 billion pounds and is the lowest in nearly 12 years. Clearly the demand for soy oil remained strong in September and soybean meal October futures made its contract high on 24 September.

Soybean yields continue to be a little better than expected in most areas. The strong dollar, harvest hedging, and strong yield reports have hurt bean prices this week.
