Iran & Crude oil: Saturday evening, President Trump posted on Truth Social stating:
“If Iran doesn’t fully open, without threat, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS from this exact point in time, the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various power plants, starting with the biggest one!”
Iran responded yesterday it will move to shut down the entire Strait of Hormuz if President Donald Trump follows through with his threats and that any companies with U.S. shares will be completely destroyed.
It looks like the show down will begin tonight. Crude oil futures had nearly a $5 trading range the first two hours of trading last evening.
So far, 22 countries have signed onto a pledge signifying their “readiness to contribute to appropriate efforts to ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.” Key countries include the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and South Korea.
