Flash sale: Yesterday morning the USDA announced the sale of 123,000 mts of old crop soybeans to China, which now has purchased 16.2% of the agreed 12 million mts by the end of January.
USDA’s final Crop Progress report for the week ending November 23 shows corn harvesting nearly complete at 96%, just shy of the five-year average of 97% (100% complete a year ago). The soybean harvest finished. Winter wheat planting is 97% complete, matching the five-year average. The national Winter Wheat condition ratings are 48% good or excellent versus 55% last year.
Brazil's 2025/26 soybean planting reached 81% of the expected area as of last Thursday, below 86% last year, AgRural said. Irregular rainfall in Mato Grosso and Goias remains a concern, potentially delaying planting and tightening the window for the second corn crop planted after soybeans. In the center-south, farmers had already planted 93% of their first corn crop, just below 95% a year ago.
