Tidbits
StoneX estimates U.S. corn yield at 183.1 bpa, above USDA's 181.2 and well above earlier market ideas in the mid-170s after summer heat and excessive rainfall raised concerns, as Karen Braun reports.
Note that USDA final corn yield has been lower than StoneX's November estimate in 11 of the last 15 years.
USDA announced yesterday morning sales of 136,000 mts of old crop corn to South Korea, 315,000 mts of old crop corn to Mexico, and 134,000 mts of old crop soybeans to unknown.
Wheat was lower yesterday primarily because it was confirmed the U.S. will mediate negotiations between Ukraine and Russia on 10 and 11 November in the United Arab Emirates. Discussions will focus on post-war security arrangements, de-escalation, humanitarian efforts, and next steps.
