Highlights


Three American soldiers were killed Sunday and 34 were wounded in a drone strike against the U.S. military outpost Tower 22 in Jordan, which is the country bordering the east side of Israel.  Two Navy Seals died in rough seas earlier this month trying to board a ship suspected of carrying weapons from Iran to Yemen.

 

U.S. natural gas futures jumped about 6% to a one-week high Thursday on forecasts for higher demand in two weeks when the weather turns slightly cooler and with the slow return of output from last week’s Arctic freeze. NG prices were down more than 5% early Friday as the weather was expected to remain warmer than normal through at least the middle of February and the Biden Administration suspended the processing of operating permits for 4 U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) export plants.

 

Mississippi Barge: USDA reported for the week ending January 20, barged grain movements totaled 333,942 tons, 52% less than the previous week and 50% less than a year ago.
