President Trump will give his State of the Union Address this evening at 8 PM Central Time. He says he will make a major announcement.

President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. would impose tariffs on "external" agricultural products starting April 2, urging American farmers to increase domestic production. In a Monday social media post, he stated, “Get ready to start making a lot of agricultural products to be sold INSIDE of the United States.” However, he did not specify which products would be affected or if any exceptions would apply. It remains unclear whether this plan is part of a previously discussed initiative for "reciprocal" tariffs on nearly all U.S. trading partners.

USDA Secretary Rollins vowed to protect farmers from the economic impact of impending tariffs during her speech at the Commodity Classic in Denver. She announced a new $10 billion Emergency Commodity Assistance Program, which will use 2024 acreage reporting data, and highlighted $21 billion in disaster relief that will be allocated based solely on need. Rollins also emphasized the restoration of payments from three major conservation programs paused since the Trump administration: the Environmental Quality Incentives Program, Conservation Security Program, and Agricultural Conservation Easement Program.
