The USDA announced yesterday morning the sale of 101,000 mts of old crop corn to unknown and 136,000 mts of old crop soybeans to China.
South American Weather & Crops:
Mato Grosso (MT) is Brazil’s leading corn and soybean producing state in Central Brazil. MT received an average of 132 mm (5.2 inches) of precipitation in October, which makes it the second wettest since 2014. Average temperature was 29.8°C (85.6°F), about the same as last year and is 4th highest since 2014.
El Niño generally brings warmer than normal temperatures and below normal rainfall to MT, but cool and wet weather to southern areas of South America. While the latter has happened, MT weather has not been hot and dry. There are more forecasters predicting the last half of November will see warmer and drier weather in MT.
