The Dow Jones Index settled on Friday at 52,573, -841 points for the week.

Crude oil settled at $99.99, +8.77.

Dollar Index settled at 99.09, -0.07.

Baltic Dry Index (a shipping freight-cost index) settled at 3,507, -121.



Corn


December futures settled at $5.30¼, -6½¢ for the week.


Basis (Z = Dec; e.g. 10Z means 10¢ over Dec futures) (Futures price + Basis = Cash price)

  • The US national average basis was -44Z, steady.

  • Dayton, Ohio Cargill’s spot basis was 10Z, 10¢ weaker, $5.40 cash price. New crop was -20, steady.

  • Iowa Falls Poet’s spot basis was -25Z, 10¢ firmer, $5.05 cash price. New crop was -35, steady.
