The Dow Jones Index settled on Friday at 52,900, +1,024 points for the week.
Crude oil settled at $68.78, -1.46.
Dollar Index settled at 100.88, -0.49.
Baltic Dry Index (a shipping freight-cost index) settled at 2,717, +193.
Corn
September futures settled at $4.23 on Friday, +1¼¢ for the week. Then $4.38¼ on Monday.
December corn settled at $4.41½ on Friday, steady for the week. Then $4.57¾ on Monday.
Basis (N = July; e.g. 10N means 10¢ over July futures) (Futures price + Basis = Cash price)
The US national average basis was -28U, 9¢ firmer.
Dayton, Ohio Cargill’s spot basis was 25U, 9¢ firmer, $4.48 cash price. New crop was -20Z, steady.
Iowa Falls Poet’s spot basis was -15U, 5¢ firmer, $4.08 cash price. New crop was -35Z, steady.
