It's our weekly US grain market prices analysis and outlook for corn, soybeans and wheat.


Dow Jones Industrial Average Index settled at 44,424, +945.42 points for the week.

Crude oil settled at $74.6, -3.44.

Dollar Index settled at 107.47, -1.94.

Baltic Dry Index (a shipping freight-cost index) settled at 778, -209 for the week.

 

Corn


March futures at $4.86½, +2¼¢ for the week.


Basis (H = March; e.g. 10H means 10¢ over March futures) (Futures price + Basis = Cash price)

  • The US national average basis is -33H, 1¢ weaker.

  • Dayton, Ohio Cargill’s spot basis is 5H, 5¢ firmer, $4.92 cash price.

  • Iowa Falls Poet’s spot basis is -17H, 2¢ weaker, $4.69 cash price.
