Crude oil: Yesterday OPEC+ agreed to maintain its 137,000 million barrels per day oil production increase for December, but decided to pause production increases for the first three months of 2026.

 

Trump said late Thursday Secretary of Energy Chris Wright and Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum are working to finalize an agreement that would see China make a “very large transaction” of Alaskan oil and gas.

 

Ukraine: CNN reported that the Pentagon has approved the transfer of long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, considering that it will not weaken American stockpiles. CNN clarified the final decision remains with President Donald Trump. Trump stated that the U.S. is not considering transferring long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine.

 

Deep in Brazil's Amazon Rainforest, scientists have built a "time machine" pumping carbon dioxide under the rainforest canopy to simulate atmospheric conditions predicted for the future to gauge how the biome will adapt. This is a question to be discussed at the COP30 United Nations climate summit 10 to 21 November in Belém, Brazil.  

 

Ethanol: Investment bank BTG Pactual projects corn-based ethanol will account for 40% of Brazil's total ethanol demand by 2028. From zero in 2017, when the first corn ethanol plant was opened, to 8 billion liters 10 years later.
