President Trump said yesterday afternoon he will not slap a tariff on any European nations on 1 February who opposed his aggressive efforts to gain control of Greenland.
Following a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Davos, Switzerland yesterday, Trump said they formed the framework of a future deal for Greenland. He said:
“I don’t have to use force. I don’t want to use force. I won’t use force.”
NATO spokesperson Allison Hart said:
“Discussions among NATO Allies on the framework the President referenced will focus on ensuring Arctic security through the collective efforts of Allies, especially the seven Arctic Allies.”
