Early harvest corn yields: We have received 7 feedbacks that include harvested yields from mid-size farmers from Indiana to Western Iowa. They uniformly say corn yields are not bad, but 20 bushels less than last year Early harvested acres are usually the worst yielding in dry areas. However, most of these disappointing yields are blamed on poor pollination, not dry weather.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent met with China’s Vice Premier He Lifeng yesterday at JPMorgan Chase headquarters in New York to discuss AI security, trade and other economic issues, a person familiar with the planning reported to Reuters. The meeting laid-out the topics and groundwork for decisions to be announced when President Trump hosts Chinese President Xi Jinping at the White House on Thursday and Friday.
JP Morgan was not involved in the meeting but agreed to provide its headquarters building as a meeting venue amid heightened security in Manhattan for the United Nations General Assembly starting this week. JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon is one of the American CEOs invited to a state dinner for Xi at the White House.
President Trump will spend two days this week at the United Nations General Assembly in New York City which will include nearly 130 heads of state. Trump will attend a series of bilateral meetings and events with notable political figures such as the leaders of Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
