Dow Jones Industrial Average Index settled at 43,841, +412.89 points for the week.

Crude oil settled at $69.95, -0.30.

Dollar Index settled at 107.56, +0.92.

Baltic Dry Index (a shipping freight-cost index) settled at 1,229, +248 for the week.

 

Corn


May futures at $4.69½, -35½¢ for the week.

December futures at $4.55, -20¢ for the week.


Basis (K = May; e.g. 10K means 10¢ over May futures) (Futures price + Basis = Cash price)

  • The US national average basis is -44K, 3¢ firmer.

  • Dayton, Ohio Cargill’s spot basis is -11K, steady, $4.59 cash price.

  • Iowa Falls Poet’s spot basis is -17K, 9¢ firmer, $4.52 cash price.
