Yesterday at 5:29 PM Eastern Daylight time Donald Trump announced that the agreement between Iran and the U.S. has been concluded.
This was also reported by Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif:
"After intensive negotiations, we are pleased to announce that a peace agreement between the US and Iran has been reached. Both sides have announced an immediate and final cessation of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon. The official signing ceremony will take place on Friday, June 19, in Switzerland."
Trump announced:
"Congratulations to everyone! I hereby fully authorize the unimpeded opening of the Strait of Hormuz and at the same time authorize the immediate lifting of the naval blockade of Iran by the US Navy. Ships of the whole world, start your engines. Let the oil flow!"
Thirty-one minutes later, July crude oil opened $3.48 lower at $81.40 and quickly traded down to $80.25, down $4.63. There is a 78¢ gap on the daily chart between Friday’s low and Sunday’s high.
