Fertilizer Markets from AgrInvest Commodities of Brazil:
The fertilizer market experienced a week of greater stability in nitrogen fertilizers, following the strong volatility observed throughout June. Urea closed the period near US$400 to US$410/t CFR Brazil, indicating a loss of momentum in the recent recovery and a more balanced market between supply and demand. Internationally, the return of Iranian plants to operation and the resumption of exports contributed to increasing the availability of the product, while ammonium sulfate and ammonium nitrate remained under pressure, reflecting lower competitiveness compared to urea and more cautious demand in important consumer segments.
In the phosphate sector, MAP remains firm around US$900/t CFR Brazil, supported by high production costs and sulfur still at historically high levels. Conversely, SSP and TSP continue to show negative adjustments, influenced by slower demand and buyers' expectations of lower prices. In the potash sector, the market continues to stabilize, with KCl registering further slight corrections and losing liquidity above US$400/t CFR. Overall, the market is moving towards greater stability, although buyer caution continues to limit price recovery in several segments.
