The CFTC publishes several commitment of traders reports, differentiated by how many trader categories are singled out. I prefer the legacy report which lumps big spec funds and managed money together. Therefore, the categories are big specs, spreaders, commercials, and small speculators. I like to track this data for relative perspective of where price is compared to net fund length. This = fund longs minus fund shorts.
This is the continuation corn chart from late 2020 through the end of 2022. The net fund length is labeled on the chart at about 15 different points across the 2 year span on the daily corn chart. The figures are the first 3 digits X 1000 for simplicity's sake.

The current net fund length from Friday's legacy report in corn is 462,381
